The advanced-level workshop will focus on intellectual property protection, mechanisms for detecting, investigating and measuring piracy and for preventing and reducing the spread of piracy.
The Anti-Piracy Training for Trainers, APTT-Windhoek, is the second in a series of regional anti-piracy training courses developed in the framework of the UNESCO Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity.
Copyright enforcement officials representing the Southern African Development Community (SADC), including Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, as well as Angola and Mozambique, will attend the training course.

The project’s main partners are: IFFRO (International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations) and IPA (International Publishers Association), IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry), the Motion Picture Association (MPA), BSA (Business Software Alliance), Namibian authorities in the field of copyright, UNESCO Offices in Windhoek and Harare.
