Information literacy competency and readership study of five specific localities in urban, industrial and semi-urban areas of Kolkata metropolitan city
The present study has tried to seek an answer to the following two interrelated questions: Whether the extent of reading by the Bengali speaking community in Kolkata has really gone down in the face of the challenge posed by the newly introduced non-print and electronic media? and What are the other factors that are putting reading at risk?
