UNESCO IITE at EDEN-2016 Conference              

UNESCO IITE participated in the International Conference “Re-imagining Learning Environments” organized by the European Distance and E-learning Network (EDEN) was held on June 14-17, 2016 in Budapest, Hungary.

More than 300 delegates from 37 countries (Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lithuania, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America) attended the conference.

The participants of the Conference discussed the new trends and developments in online and open learning focusing on the topics of opening up the education, visions of new learning environments, evolution of the concepts of openness and scalability in education, different ways to understand technological influences, “e-competences and e-skills”, MOOC experiences, etc.

Learning environments were analyzed in their widest interpretation: digital, physical, networked, pedagogical, social, cultural, and economic. The conference agenda also included the issues of different ways to understand technological influences, new ways to interpret the collaborative and social-networked society and the potential of the professional and academic digital community to contribute to breakthrough of modernization.

Ms. Svetlana Knyazeva, Chief of the Section of Digital Pedagogy and Learning Materials, introduced on the results of the UNESCO IITE project on foresight for ICT in higher education.
