E-learning in the Republic of Korea

The achievements of the Republic of Korea in e-Learning and ICT in education policy are the result of systematic efforts in implementation of a solid legal framework, supported by secured budgeting, timely capacity building, successful cooperation between public and private sectors, and an effective monitoring and evaluation system. The survey of ICT innovations in education in Korea introduces national ICT policies and initiatives in E-learning and policy implementation activities with a special focus on infrastructure, curriculum, teacher training, standards, quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation systems. The survey can serve UNESCO Member States a useful reference in their policy work in ICT in education.
