All impact figures are estimates calculated using the modelling tool Impact 2, by Marie Stopes International, 2016.

These figures are based on actual shipments of goods from UNFPA-owned inventory and from manufacturers' locations during the specified time period. (They do not show orders placed, because some orders may not ship within the same time frame.)

This report includes only shipments to UNFPA-funded or co-funded country programmes.

Manual errors in the source data have been corrected whenever found. The resulting data are as accurate as possible.

All values are in US dollars.

*The impact on lifespan is measured in disability-adjusted life years, or DALYs, an internationally used standard for comparing the cost-effectiveness of health services. DALYs measure years lost due to illness, disability or early death; impact on lifespan is therefore years saved due to health interventions and services, under ideal conditions.

This report shows materials procured for UNFPA’s reproductive health programmes and services - including commodities procured through the UNFPA Supplies thematic programme. While UNFPA also procures reproductive health materials on behalf of third parties, such as governments and NGOs, those procurements are not reflected here.

The designations employed and the presentation of material on the map do not imply the expression of any opinion whatsoever on the part of UNFPA concerning the legal status of any country, territory, city or area or its authorities, or concerning the delimitation of its frontiers or boundaries. The dotted line represents approximately the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir agreed upon by India and Pakistan. The final status of Jammu and Kashmir has not yet been agreed upon by the parties.
