UNESCO, the British Council and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) have joined forces to manage the project “Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans” (CC4WBs), funded by the European Union. The public launch of the project and Open Door info days about the published open calls were organised from 3 to 5 February 2023 in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Strengthening the social and economic impact of the cultural and creative sector in the region and actively engaging creative industries are at the centre of this 8 million European initiative.

High interest in the published Open Calls for Proposals and Expressions of Interest

The Cinema Meeting Point in Sarajevo, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Banja Luka and the City Administration building in Mostar were attended by dozens of experts, artists, experienced managers and young people from the cultural and creative sector.  Sarajevo info days were a hybrid event with an additional 130 online participants.

The audience was addressed by representatives of UNESCO, the British Council, AICS, the EU delegation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and representatives of the embassies of Italy and the United Kingdom.

During info days, the details of the public call for organizations and institutions were presented, including the awarding of grants. The second part of the gathering was dedicated to a public call for expressions of interest in cultural leadership and media for individuals.

Applications for public calls are open until the end of March for organizations and public institutions, and until 15 March 2023 for individuals in the cultural and media sectors.

Open calls for participation of organizations and individuals were published. To find out more about these open calls, follow the links below:
