The Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) between civil society, research and institution

24/25-01-2013 Milan (Italy)

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Convention for Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage this international workshop – organised within the transboundary cooperation project Italy Switzerland 2007-2013 “E.CH.I. – Italian Swiss Ethnographies for the Enhancement of Intangible Cultural Heritage” – aims at a better understanding and comparison of good practices in the transmission of intangible cultural heritage and the dissemination of proven strategies in different European and international contexts. The event also intends to provide an occasion for debate and for the exchange of experiences among NGOs and cultural institutions engaged in the safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. To ensure the safeguarding, development and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage present in its transnational territories, the workshop also promotes the “Intangible Search Inventory” managed by Lombardy Region in collaboration with national and international territorial partners and communities, as a pilot experience inside Alpine Area. Intangible Search is constantly updated and implemented by researchers, local communities, groups and individuals. http://www.intangiblesearch.eu
