The role of intangible heritage, traditions and local culture within the immigrant communities
09-11-2013 Marcianise (Italy)
The association Radici, based in Marcianise (CE), in collaboration with ICH Net Coordinator for Campania based in Macerata Campania, the Association Sant’Antuono e le Battuglie di Pastellessa, the association Club Etnie and other cultural associations operating in the territory, on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the ICH and within the ICHNet initiative «Culture Viventi», organizes a round table to deepen and debate the role of intangible heritage, traditions and local culture within the immigrant communities. The aim of the meeting is to raise awareness of the importance of ICH as a part of the identity of a community, thus leading to the importance of its safeguarding and the role and contribution of those members of the community who live geographically apart. We will try to approach both the importance of ICH as a part of the identity of these members and, on the other hand, on their contribution to its safeguarding.
