Launching Cambodian Youth Mobile Training

On 26th October 2015, UNESCO, in cooperation with InSTEDD iLab in Cambodia, launched a three-month training on Cambodian Youth Mobile App Development Program.

Mobile phone coverage is widespread throughout Cambodia including in rural and remote provinces and for low-income households, making this channel particularly prone to effectively supporting the promotion of social impact programs. The youth mobile program’s objective is to empower Cambodian youth to develop mobile phone application which can address social issues in their communities and in their countries.

As part of the program, UNESCO will provide training and coaching on mobile phone application development to a selected group of youth. The training will be based on a technology called Phonegap. The program will incorporate social perspectives to enable the direct application of young people’s knowledge to the development of social solutions for Cambodia.

Congratulations to all the selected applicants who come from diverse backgrounds and universities! We hope you will develop apps to positively impact Cambodia: List of Successful Candidates
