The Sciences In The Service Of Development:

UNESCO Phnom Penh's Natural Sciences Program mainly focuses on the following issues:

  1. Promotion of environmental sustainability through the Biosphere Reserves.
  2. Fostering policies and capacity-building in science, technology and innovation for sustainable development.
  3. Enhancement of the linkages between cultural and biological diversity by the preservation of natural resources.

The Natural Science Unit collaborates closely with other sectors –namely, education and culture – in working towards strengthening science education, raising awareness about climate change, promoting sustainable management of natural resources, etc.
