Science, technology and innovation are clearly recognized as key to attain sustainable development and understanding the importance of the environment which is vital for current and future human well being. This is the reason why UNESCO Office in Phnom Penh supports science education through the Khmer Science Film Festival in order to work towards human resource development. At the same time, UNESCO Phnom Penh Office is working for strengthening the institutional capacity of the country to contribute more fully towards development through science and technology policy.
