General Objectives of the Programme

  • Raise Awareness and enhance Capacities to assess, monitor and communicate the impacts of and responses to climate chance on natural and socio-economic environments at local, national and regional levels in the Andean regions.
  • Develop Strategies and policy Guidelines considering vulnerabilities, opportunities and potentials for adaptation with particular reference to strengthening the role of local communities.
  • Facilitate and Strengthen ongoing Research activities in the region.
  • Provide Education and Training at tertiary level, middle technical level and review and strengthen community education.

Objectives of the Coordination Meeting

  • Present ongoing activities of the Glacier Melt project, discuss follow-up Activities and identify possible linkages with other regional activities. These activities are organized since 2012, to strengthening the science-policy dialogue in the Andean Region to identify climate change adaptation strategies.
  • Network Coordination: strengthen network interaction between the different partners involved in the project.
