Youth National Biennale on Intangible Cultural Heritage of Kazakhstan dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of ICH.

30-10-2013/05-11-2013 Almaty (Kazakhstan)

Kazakhstan UNESCO Clubs Movement is strongly committed to the UNESCO initiatives in youth arts education, intercultural dialogue and dissemination of human values. Almaty School of Fine Arts and Technical Design – UNESCO Club has implemented annual National Plain-Air and Workshop since 2006. In 2009 with the establishment of the Kazakhstan National Federation of UNESCO Clubs (KazFUCA) the project became a creative forum for young artists of UNESCO Clubs, Art Schools and Studios from all over Kazakhstan. Taking into consideration that Cultural Heritage in youth education is one of the main strategic priorities for KazFUCA. Organizers decided to dedicate Creative Biennale for youth activists of UNESCO Clubs Movement to the 10th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. During 5 days program more than 150 students will learn from various workshops and master-classes on ICH elements. Well-known artists and different community members will present the uniqueness and importance of Kazakhstan Cultural Heritage. The main goal is promotion and safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Kazakhstan. This must start with the minds of girls and boys, whose imagination we must support and whose skills we must improve.
