UNESCO Chair in Sustainable Groundwater Management (783), established in 2007 at the University of Tsukuba, Ibaraki (Japan) and the Institute of Geo-ecology, Mongolian Academy of Sciences, Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia).

Objectives
- The purpose of the Chair shall be to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of groundwater management.
- It will serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Mongolia and Japan and neighbouring East Asian countries such as China and the Republic of Korea.
