Capacity-building for the representatives of religious communities

A module for Capacity-Building workshops for the representatives of religious communities and site managers in charge of WHP of religious interest was developed by ICCROM in coordination with the World Heritage Centre and ICOMOS.

The main objective of the Capacity-building workshop is to increase awareness and reinforce involvement of religious communities in the implementation of the World Heritage Convention.

The States Parties are invited to contribute to the implementation of the Initiative by organizing Capacity-building Workshops for the representatives of religious communities.

 Module 

International Seminar for religious representatives involved in the management and use of the World Heritage properties

Within the framework of the World Heritage Committee’s Decision concerning the state of conservation of the World Heritage property “Cultural and Historic Ensemble of the Solovetsky Islands”, Russian Federation (36COM 7B.86, St. Petersburg, 2012) and the Initiative on Heritage of Religious Interest, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, in collaboration with the Russian Orthodox Church and coordination with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, ICOMOS and ICCROM, has organized the International Seminar for religious representatives involved in the management and use of the World Heritage properties, Moscow from 14 to 16 May 2013. This Seminar is largely financed by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Multidisciplinary Workshop on the Strategic Framework for the Conservation and Management of the Mount Athos Cultural and Natural Heritage

Within the framework of the World Heritage Committee’s Decision concerning the state of conservation of the World Heritage property “Mount Athos”, Greece (Decision 36COM7B.38, St. Petersburg, 2012) and the Initiative on Heritage of Religious Interest, the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and Sports, in cooperation with the Mount Athos Holy Community and in coordination with the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, ICOMOS and IUCN, organizes the Multidisciplinary Workshop on the Strategic Framework for the Conservation and Management of the Mount Athos Cultural and Natural Heritage. The Workshop will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 29 to 30 August 2013. This Workshop is largely financed by the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
