The Research Center for Disaster Mitigation of Urban Cultural Heritage, Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan is organizing the 6th International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage in Japan from 10 to 24 September 2011 (application deadline: 15 May 2011). This training course aims at promoting the development of collaboration and network building among scholars and professionals in cultural heritage protection. During the course, participants will formulate disaster management plans for cultural heritage sites that are based on the characteristics of cultural heritage and the nature of hazards in a regional context. The theme of the 6th International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage will be 'Integrated Approach for Disaster Risk Mitigation of Historic Cities'.
