This publication presents the outcome and recommendations of the International Expert Meeting on World Heritage and the Arctic, which took place from 30 November to 1 December 2007 in Narvik, Norway. Representatives from the eight States Parties of the UNESCO World Heritage Convention in the Arctic region, organizations of indigenous peoples, the Advisory Bodies (IUCN, ICOMOS), the Nordic World Heritage Foundation and the World Heritage Centre participated in this meeting to exchange information on the natural and cultural heritage of the Arctic region, with identification of potential sites of Outstanding Universal Value for the World Heritage List.
