Description

La maison individuelle et les maisons jumelées de Le Corbusier font partie de la cite du Weissenhof qui est considérée comme l'une des réalisations les plus représentative de l'architecture moderne. Elles constituent une contribution spécifique de Le Corbusier à la standardisation de a la construction et de l'habitat.

Statements of authenticity and/or integrity

Les deux maisons de Le Corbusier à la cité du Weissenhof constituent une étape décisive dans l'histoire de l'architecture moderne au début de XXe siècle. C'est a l'occasion de l'exposition de Weissenhof qu'il rédige et publie son manifeste intitule "Cinq points d'une architecture nouvelle".

La structure extérieure de la maison individuelle est identique à son aspect de 1927 et l'intérieur est également conforme aux croquis de Le Corbusier. Des 1932 les maisons jumelées ont subi de profondes transformations. Mais en 2005 la restauration complète selon les techniques de conservation des monuments historiques est terminée.

Pour l'ensable de l'œuvre de Le Corbusier : voir volume I, chapitre III de la nomination de la série. La cite du Weissenhof atteste l'internationalisation du mouvement et représente donc un aspect différent compare avec les sites du Bauhaus a Dessau et à Weimar et des cites des années 1920 comme celles de Bruno Taut à Berlin.
