Fourth Extraordinary Session of the Intergovernmental Committee (4.EXT.COM) – Paris, 8 June 2012

During the election of its Bureau, at its sixth session, the Committee decided, on an exceptional basis, to suspend Rule 13.1 of the Rules of Procedure (Decision 6.COM 24) and requested the Secretariat to ‘take the necessary actions to convene an extraordinary session of the Committee during the General Assembly of the States Parties in order to elect a new member of the Bureau’.

The Intergovernmental Committee therefore met in its fourth extraordinary session after the closure of the General Assembly, Friday, 8 June 2012, to elect a new member of its Bureau. After this election, the Bureau of the Committee also met.
