Organized by the City of Seville as a contribution to the UNESCO Recommendation on historic urban landscapes, the purpose of the conference is to shed more light on concepts, instruments, tools and criteria of management of historic cities.

The conference brings together diverse international specialists. Together they will address the important issue of the insertion of contemporary elements in historic cities through an analysis of new heritage concepts and their adaptability to historic cities, the relation between landscape and time, forms and functions of architecture and urban economics.
