Briefs, Papers, Tools

IIEP’s strong position in the field of educational planning largely derives from its ability to translate theory into practice, and to design context-specific approaches informed by broad international perspectives and trends.
The Institute produces a wide range of resources that support the decision-making process and tailors policy advice to the specific priorities of decision-makers.

Policy and Research Briefs (PDFs)

Policy Briefs

IIEP’s Policy Briefs is a series of reader-friendly documents that uses IIEP’s analysis and data to introduce some of today’s most pressing education policy issues. Policy briefs are written with the specific priorities of decision-makers in mind, focusing on how governments can make reform happen.

Research Briefs

IIEP’s Research Briefs represent the independent research and analysis of internal and external experts. They summarize important research results and provide up-to-date technical analysis and information on pressing education policy issues, presented in an attractive and readable format.

Education Policy Series

Jointly published by the International Academy for Education (IAE) and IIEP, the purpose of the Education Policy Series is to summarize what is known, based on research, about selected policy issues in the field of education. The series was designed for rapid consultation ‘on the run’ by busy senior decision-makers in ministries of education, who need ready access to summaries of research that can improve educational policy.

Drawing on IIEP’s expertise in analysing educational policy and practices, the Country Notes series captures lessons for policy and practices. These handy publications (PDF files) bridge a country’s knowledge gaps in educational planning.

Occasional Papers

The Occasions Papers series explores emerging issues and their implications for educational policy, planning and management.

Training Materials

These modules are designed as self-teaching materials and may also be used by training institutions that offer courses in educational planning and management. They draw heavily on the Institute's research experience in the field and have been tested in different IIEP training contexts.
