Fifth Global Studies Conference

UNESCO IITE participated in the FIFTH GLOBAL STUDIES CONFERENCE, which was held at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Global Studies, Moscow, on 20-22 June. The Global Studies conference is to be held annually in different locations around the world, each of them will be selected for its particular role in the dynamics of globalization.

This year, the main themes of the organized in Russia Conference were «Eurasia and Globalization» and «Complexity and Global studies». The first one considers regional concerns and the second one seeks to deepen global studies as a field while taking into account the profound legacy of global studies (and «globalistics») in Russia and at MSU. Thus, the conference engages local-global and regional relations while deepening the conversation on globalization.

UNESCO IIITE National Programme Officer Prof. Alexander Khoroshilov took part in the special Plenary section and Round Table organized by UNESCO Chair on Global Social and Ethical Challenges of the Faculty of Global Studies. He has delivered the welcome address on behalf of Director of UNESCO Moscow office and a.i. Director of UNESCO IITE Mr. Dendev Badarch, made a presentation on the UNESCO IITE and its activities in the conditions of globalization of education.

Besides, at the Round Table meeting he considered and discussed a role, critical issues and global challenges of ICTs in Education.
