UNESCO IITE and University of London announced a new run of the MOOC "ICT in Primary Education" that started on May 26, 2015

This is to announce a new run of the acclaimed course on ICT in Primary Education, to run as a MOOC (a massive open online course) hosted by the University of London.

The course is the collaboration between the UCL Institute of Education and the UNESCO Institute of Informaton Technologies in Education. The course team has instructors from 8 different countries.

This is a professional development course for teachers, head-teachers, leaders and policymakers in primary education, but is open to all with an interest in this area.

Why and how are teachers integrating ICT (Information and Communication Technology) into primary education? In this course we analyse examples from schools in different parts of the world, and bring professional teachers, head-teachers and policymakers together to share their best ideas and inspiring stories. The course uses a collaborative learning pedagogy along with short videos and interactive tools. It achieved 99% approval ratings in the final survey (48% excellent, 36% very good and 15% good).

The course runs for 6 weeks, and provides 5 core hours of study each week, with a further 5 optional hours. There is an option of receiving a certificate of completion, and/or a statement of accomplishment. You can see the course description here, at Coursera and register for the course.

The course is free and open to all.

Please join us for 25 May to 06 July 2015.
