The programme Aprendizajes en Familia is a proposal made by the Regional Cooperation Centre for Adult Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (CREFAL), with the technical assistance of the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) and the support of the UNESCO office in Mexico. The book gives an international overview of the learning experiences that occur within the family, and analyzes the theoretical underpinnings and implementation of this program developed by CREFAL. This is an initiative which aims to strengthen social participation in education through the development of strategies that tie the family, school and community together, based on educational content and methods that are tailored to local needs.
