Modern technologies

The rapid development and implementation of new technologies requires people to continuously update their skills. Information and communications technology (ICT) plays an influential role in facilitating learning in various life contexts, including home, school, community and the workplace, and ICT literacy is necessary to participate actively in society. UNESCO Member States recognize the importance of modern technologies in education. The UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning is responding by working on projects that develop and provide digital education services.
