IPDC has a wide range of projects in many developing countries. Local projects are vehicles in the betterment of the flow of free information, promotion of literacy and contribution to the establishment of public spheres that are important for democracy also at the grassroots level.
In providing support to projects, IPDC is guided by the following four priorities established by its Council:
promotion of freedom of expression and media pluralism;
development of community media;
human resource development;
promotion of international partnership.
