Initial training to conduct a diagnostic study

Institutional weakness of the in-service teacher training system remains the crucial problem related to teacher issues in Congo. At all levels, institutions of initial training and vocational training are unsustainable in terms of human and material resources.

In July 2012, UNESCO and the Task Force conducted initial training for the national team appointed by the Ministry to conduct a diagnostic study. The Marien Ngouabi University and the “Ecole Normale Supérieure” are stakeholders for this study. A timetable of implementation was elaborated. The UNESCO office in Brazzaville and BREDA are now in discussion with the Ministry for the continuation of this project.
