New version of webportal for youth in Arab region launched

The webportal www.jeunessearabe.info, dedicated to the youth living in the Arab region, has just revamped its design and content outlay.
The second version of the website includes new features such as a monthly theme to which the site dedicates an in depth article with documents and specific information resources and a forum linked to it. Youth associations interested in the theme will write the in depth article and moderate the debate in the forum.

Regarding the choice of the themes, the web portal will alternate guidelines on communication tools offered by the Internet with more general themes that interest the youth in the Arab region such as environmental issues. Discussions on each theme will carry on for one month and a half after which it will be on-line archive for further consultation.

Another important new feature is a news rubric. This space aims to inform young people from the Arab region about activities, forums, events and all the interesting opportunities that exist in the region.

Those who are familiar with the portal will find the virtual library rich in documents and information in three languages: English, French and Arabic.

This graphic, technical, functional evolution marks an important stage in the development process of the portal in its aim to improve access and participation of young people and to strengthen the creative and interactive capacities of young people.

Created in 2004 within the frame of a joint programming initiative between UNESCO and ISESCO the jeunessearabe.info portal aims to provide in the information needs of the youth and youth associations of the Arab world. This portal is part of INFOYOUTH programme, a worldwide information network on youth issues.
