UNESCO recruits expert to strengthen its WSIS follow-up team
A post of programme specialist is presently open for recruitment at the Information Society Division of UNESCO's Communication and Information Sector. The major responsibility of this post is to manage UNESCO's follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), including the Organization’s role in the implementation of the WSIS Action Plan.
More particularly, the incumbent of the post will have to develop strategic approaches to the implementation of the WSIS Action Plan; monitor UNESCO's role as a facilitator of the multi-stakeholder implementation of six WSIS Action Lines; and coordinate UNESCO's contribution to the overall multi-stakeholder coordination of the Facilitators of the eleven Action Lines.

The candidates must have advanced university degree in communication, information or international relations, preferably with orientation towards knowledge societies and five to seven years of working experience in international or intergovernmental organizations active in knowledge society issues.
