UNESCO and the Slovak news agency, TASR, have signed a partnership agreement to raise the Organization’s visibility through the publication of articles about UNESCO’s work.

“I welcome the signing of this agreement which should enable the Slovak public to know more about UNESCO’s action. This is particularly opportune as UNESCO celebrates its 70th anniversary,” said the Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova.

“This partnership agreement provides an opportunity to showcase the actions of UNESCO in my country,” said Klara Novotna, Slovakia’s Ambassador and Permanent Delegate to UNESCO. “This is a significant contribute which should herald closer cooperation with the Organization. Slovakia is determined to make this partnership a success.”

TASR is a leading news agency in Slovakia, with more than 250 contributors in the country and abroad. It publishes close to 250,000 dispatches per year as well as photographs and videos. It also has a mobile application.
