IITE Looks at ICTs in Technical and Vocational Education and Training

UNESCO's Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) in Moscow has recently launched an international project entitled "ICTs in Technical and Vocational Education and Training" that deals with life-long learning, education for all, and information literacy in a world increasingly marked by convergence.
In the framework of this project, the Institute has begun to prepare information material on existing experience and best practice of ICT usage in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) around the world.
In addition, ITE is organizing an international expert meeting on the subject to be held from 25 to 27 April in Moscow , with the following items on the agenda
· Identifying needs of UNESCO Member States for the development of ICT usage in TVET;
· Elaborating indicative methods for evaluation state-of-the-art, needs and perspectives of ICT usage in TVET;
· Familiarizing specialists from UNESCO Member States with IITE research findings on ICT usage in TVET;
· Preparing teaching/learning materials for evaluation of ICT usage in TVET.
The participation of 10 to 15 experts from about 10 countries is expected. The findings of the meeting will later be published.
