UNESCO’s Network Training Hub in Ukraine Starts New Courses
20-06-2002 ()
- One year ago, UNDP and UNESCO launched the “Regional Academy for Advanced Network Administration and Design "(RAANAD) in Kiev, Ukraine, with a view to providing facilities for advanced network training for the region in the framework of UNESCO’s Association of Computer Centres for Exploiting Sustainable Synergy (ACCESS-net). This week started at RANAAD another round of training courses for 60 specialists from the region.
The fellows from Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan, who are attending training courses, were selected from candidates proposed by the Organization's National Commissions in the region. A second session is scheduled for October-November 2002.
Thanks to additional resources that were provided by the Kiev National Taras Schevchenko University to accelerate the implementation of the project and in-kind contributions from other donors such as Cisco, RANAAD becamefully operational by October 2001, offering training courses of different levels in line with local needs. Since its creation, RAANAD has trained over 100 fellows in a variety of training courses
The programme of the Academy is based on an e-learning model that delivers web-based educational content, online testing, student performance tracking, and instructor training and support, as well hands-on labs. It combines lectures and online learning with hands-on laboratory exercises in which attendees apply what they learn in class while working on actual networks. Upon completion of the training session, the participants will take the certification exams for CCNA degrees
The Cisco Certified Network Administration (CCNA) certification is the first step in Cisco career certification leading to the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification, the industry's most respected certification for network professionals.
