Brief project description
The project consists of launching a youth video competition introducing the public to and highlighting the cultural products and industry from rural Pakistan. In addition to providing young filmmakers with the opportunity to produce their short films, they are also invited to participate in a seminar with business entrepreneurs, market keepers and tradesmen in order to promote the creation of cultural products to help increase profit and economically improve everyday life of local people. In addition, the project promotes the creation of links and networks between all actors in the cultural industries. The project also facilitates the display/exposition of the finalists’ cultural products in their own city.
Objectives and expected results
The project aims to encourage the active participation of young artists and artisans aged 18-30 years old from various rural areas of Pakistan in promoting cultural goods/industries through their videos. It also aims to promote networks and connections with stakeholders in the country’s cultural industries, and provides them with the opportunity to display their art.
