Regional Workshop on ICT in Education Statistics

In pursuit of its continued strategy for assisting countries to build statistical capacity in a number of policy-relevant areas and responding to the increased demand for internationally comparable indicators on information and communication technology (ICT) in education, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) in collaboration with the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) will organize a regional workshop to train national statisticians on ICT in education statistics, and in particular towards completion of the ICT in education global survey.

The workshop will be held from 25 to 27 November 2015 in Moscow, Russian Federation and will address such issues as policy and curriculum, ICT infrastructure in primary and secondary level schools, enrolment in programmes using ICT and teachers training for and usage of ICT. The workshop will gather participants from more than 20 countries from Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia. Data provided by countries within the framework of this survey will be used to generate policy-relevant internationally comparable indicators that can be used to guide countries in setting national priorities, formulating ICT in education policy, and monitoring country progress.
