Seventy-six teachers and Ministry of Education administrative staff have graduated from a UNESCO implemented computer training programme in Kabul. Using the fully-equipped UNESCO Information and Communication Technologies Access Centre in the Ministry building, the trainees undertook a ten week course in a range of computer applications.
The course, conducted by UNESCO’s trainer, Qadir Qayouni, covered such subjects as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, use of Internet and computer trouble-shooting. The participants each received 90 minutes of instruction every day for the ten weeks of the programme.
The Information and Communication Technologies Access Centre is equipped with nineteen Pentium 4 computers, server and network printer. The Centre was funded through UNESCO by the Government of Japan.
