Promoting the ratification and the implementation of the 1954 Convention and its protocols in countries covered by the Abuja Regional Office

X

Download

The 1954 Convention provides for the protection and safeguarding of cultural property in times of armed conflict. Most countries of the region covered by the UNESCO Abuja Regional Office have gone through conflict and some still have low-level conflicts within their territories. It is important to ensure that these countries ratify the Covention; domesticate it and implement it so that cultural heritage can be protected.
