3 December 2015 UNESCO-UNEVOC at the TVET Forum for Latin America in Montevideo, Uruguay From 23 to 25 November, 2015, an expert meeting in Montevideo, Uruguay, convened 40 technical and vocational education and training (TVET) stakeholders and ministry representatives from Latin American countries to discuss the challenges TVET faces looking towards the implementation of the recently adopted Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the period 2015-2030. 27 October 2015 UNEVOC attends Regional Meeting in Harare and Mutare, Zimbabwe From 14 to 16 October, 60 participants from eight countries representing ministries, youth organisations, NGOs and other UN agencies met in Harare and Mutare in Zimbabwe for a Regional TVET Meeting. (more)

28 September 2015 UNESCO-UNEVOC welcomes nine new member institutions of the UNEVOC Network UNESCO-UNEVOC is pleased to announce that nine institutions have joined the UNEVOC Network in 2015! The new institutions are from Brunei Darussalam, Ghana, Mexico, the United Republic of Tanzania, Namibia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Botswana and Grenada. (more)

14 May 2015 Creating Opportunities - II-nd International Conference on Inclusive Education The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will present the report on the accomplishments and activities undertaken in recent years for the introduction and ensuring of quality vocational education for persons with special educational needs. At the same time, the strategies supporting the employment of persons with disabilities/special educational needs will be defined at the conference. (more)

6 May 2015 UNEVOC welcomes visiting expert from TAFE Directors Australia Jessica Davis, visiting expert from TAFE Directors Australia - a UNEVOC Coordinating Centre in the Asia Pacific Region, will be with us for ten weeks. (more)

10 April 2015 Chinese UNEVOC Centre visits fellow Network member in South Africa Two BRICS countries – one Network. Delegates from the Chinese Central Institute for Vocational and Technical Education visited a fellow UNEVOC Centre, JET Education Services, in South Africa. (more)

6 March 2015 Mobile technology in skills development for women UNESCO-UNEVOC co-organized a session on "Using mobile technology in skills development for women: A glimpse into promising practices to improve skills for employability" at Mobile Learning Week 2015. UNEVOC Centres from Finland and the Philippines presented case studies. (more)

7 January 2015 Supporting Social Partnership in VET in Georgia This paper is prepared within the ETF project “Supporting Social Partnership in VET in Georgia”. Its objective is to provide guidance to the tripartite social partnership in Georgia, i.e. the government and the employers’ and workers’ organisations, on ways and measures to substantially improve social dialogue in VET in Georgia at wider national level, as well as at sector and local levels. 7 January 2015 2013-2020 VET Development Strategy of Georgia This strategy document represents the Government's vision for the future development of vocational education in Georgia. Drafting of the strategy was informed by a broad consultation process, drawing upon the opinions and expertise of all relevant players in the area. (more)

15 August 2014 New UNEVOC Centre at the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science In August 2014, the Social Partnership Support Division at Vocational Education Development Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia joined the UNEVOC Network. It is the third institution in Georgia to join the UNEVOC Network. (more)

14 August 2014 New UNEVOC Network Member in Colombia: National Training Service (SENA) In August 2014, the National Training Service (Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje, SENA) joined the UNEVOC Network. It is the second UNEVOC Centre in Colombia. (more)

10 January 2014 Tatarstan UNEVOC Centre 'TISBI' involved in major staffing project The Ministry of Education of Tatarstan (Russia) together with a number of enterprises will create 25 resource centers for personnel training. 10 January 2014 National Institute of Employment and Professional Formation, Uruguay, joins the UNEVOC Network In December 2013, the National Institute of Employment and Professional Formation (INEFOP), Uruguay, joined the UNEVOC Network. INEFOP acts in the field of employment and vocational training in the private sector. (more)

6 December 2013 UNESCO-UNEVOC welcomes Omnia from Finland On 6 December 2013, UNESCO-UNEVOC was pleased to welcome Ms Mervi Jansson and Mr Tapio Siukonen of Omnia from Finland to the UNESCO-UNEVOC premises. (more)

3 December 2013 Regional Forum on Status of TVET in the SADC Region Based on the findings of a regional study conducted by UNESCO on the Status of TVET in the SADC Region, representatives of the SADC Member States convened in Stellenbosch, South Africa from 25 to 29 November 2013 to discuss the progress of actions undertaken to reform their countries’ TVET systems since the assessment. 10 October 2013 New UNEVOC Network Member: Jet Education Services, South Africa In 2012, representatives from Jet Education Services visited UNESCO-UNEVOC as part of a study tour to Germany. The organization’s application to become a UNEVOC Centre was strongly endorsed by the South African Commission for UNESCO. (more)

18 September 2013 Omnia Finland joins the UNEVOC Network In September 2013, Omnia, the Joint Authority of Education in the Espoo Region in Finland joined the UNEVOC Network. With nearly 10 000 students and 700 staff, Omnia is one of Finland´s largest vocational institutes. (more)

29 August 2013 New UNEVOC Network Member: TISBI University of Management, Kazan, Russian Federation The newly established UNEVOC Centre for professional education at the University of Management “TISBI” has the objective to contribute to the development of inclusive secondary vocational educational programs in the Republic of Tatarstan.
