This year UNESCO will mobilize AmmanNet and the Jordan News Agency (JNA) to carry out a press freedom campaign by Internet and Television, which will certainly create wide press coverage throughout the region.

AmmanNet is a private Jordanian NGO that is dedicated to advance the rights of journalists. It was launched by the Arab Media Institute in November 2000 under the co sponsorship of UNESCO and the Greater Amman Municipality. AmmanNet broadcasts live audio programs on its web site www.ammannet.net. It also posts text, photos and audio reports on its web site for a longer period of time. A daily newsletter is sent to over 1,000 subscribers.
