Ms Vernette Ollivierre, a teacher at the Bequia Community High School and a member of the Small Islands Voice Coordinating Committee in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, wrote this dramatic monologue 'Up from the deep'. It was performed by Ms. Racquel Phillips and Mr. Michael Penniston at the closing ceremony of the Second Regional Sandwatch Workshop in Dominica on 9th July 2003. The drama portrays the ocean responding to decades and centuries of misuse by humans.
