St Kitts and Nevis Back Chat Group's Visit to Montserrat

Between 5-7 March 2006, 23 students from the St. Kitts and Nevis Back Chat groups and six coordinators went on a field trip to Montserrat. The St. Kitts and Nevis Coastguard boat took them on the three-hour trip to Montserrat. While in Montserrat, they visited several schools, and the radio station, and conduct an island tour including a visit to the famous volcano. They spread the message of Small Islands Voice and eco-friendly practices to the students and the whole population of Montserrat. The trip to Montserrat was a very interesting and informative one. Not only did the St. Kitts and Nevis students share their Small Islands Voice and Back Chat activities, but they were also able to see firsthand the destruction the volcanic eruptions have done to Montserrat.

Following the visit the Montserrat Secondary School has made a request to become involved in Small Islands Voice.
