PACIFIC - Palau Activities

Participation in the Pacific Islands Regional ICT Consultation in Fiji, April 2003

Mr. Joe Chilton, one of the coordinators of Palau's Small Islands Voice project, participated in the Pacific Islands Regional Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Consultation, held in Suva, Fiji, from 9-11 April. The goal of this consultation was to prepare Pacific Island countries and organisations to participate effectively in the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS). As a result of the consultation Palau is now well placed to understand opportunities and priorities for deriving optimum benefits from ICTs as developmental tools and to ensure they play an important role in Small Islands Voice activities.
