St Kitts and Nevis

The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis comprises two islands situated in the northeastern Caribbean Sea. The land area of St. Kitts is 168 km2 and Nevis is 93 km2 (see map below). Basseterre is the capital of the Federation. The population is 38,736 and the people are descended mainly from Africans, with a small number of Europeans and other races. The official language is English. The local currency is the East Caribbean dollar.
