INFOLAC Web Prize for Latin America and Caribbean Youth

16-01-2003 (Quito)
The INFOLAC Web Prize organized by UNESCO, through the Information Society Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (INFOLAC), in cooperation with the General Directorate for Libraries (DGB) of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) is seeking to award prizes to three of the best websites for youth in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The websites proposed must have an educational value for youth in the region and should contribute towards fostering endogenous culture in Latin America and the Caribbean, by promoting content related to education, science and culture and should not merely be designed for the dissemination of commercial, entertainment or related themes. Moreover, several criteria will be taken into account in judging the websites, including originality, content, graphic design, functionality, accessibility and utility for young people.

The website must be produced by a private or public institution registered in any Latin America or Caribbean country. Candidates should register before 31 March 2003 on the INFOLAC website by completing the form. Further details are also available on the website.
