Launch of 'The Champs Club' television show, Grenada
15 June 2009

We have begun our promotion of the launch of the Champs Club Kid TV show re HIV/AIDS awareness /education.

Below is a message sent out to 8 primary schools last week.

Brain Storm Productions in collaboration with Angel Mountain Limited is preparing to launch the Kids television show, “The Champs Club”, under the UNESCO initiative, "Youth Visioning for Island Living program."

Youth Visioning for Island Living aims to empower young people to be able to realize their sustainable development ideas; put young people in leadership positions so that they can learn and teach others and build capacity of youth to take action and make a difference on their island.

Grenada is the only English speaking country in the Caribbean chosen to be part of this initiative.

The UNESCO initiative also includes 2 other projects in the Caribbean including Haiti and the Dominican Republic, as well as 5 in the Pacific Ocean and 3 in the Indian Ocean.

The Champs Club Show is used to discuss the basics of health/disease through kids songs, kids talk sessions, and kids activities. Participants range from 4 years and up and the kids attend various schools around the island.

One or more of your students have participated in the first series of this show. Therefore, we encourage you and the students in your school to tune in to the weekly program. The first series educates about HIV/AIDS.

The Champs Club will premiere on the Grenada Broadcasting Network, GBN on channel 11 from July 15th.

There will be television and radio ads broadcast within the next few weeks, which will give details on the days and times the program will be aired.

Thank you for your support in getting the word out within your school and we assure you that the show promises to be entertaining and educational.

Sincerely yours,
