The Government Ministry of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Unit is responsible for the co-ordination of technical and vocational education programmes in the secondary and upper levels of primary schools and conducts curriculum monitoring, teacher training, professional development and advising on TVET matters. Being the only unit for TVET, the Unit deals with the community and all agencies compatible for Technical/Vocational Education.

Jamaica's Minister of Industry and Commerce, the Honourable Anthony Hylton, spoke about the plans for the logistics hub in Jamaica. The keynote speaker was Mr. Robert Ready, Canadian High Commissioner to Jamaica.
