Seminar on Literacy and Sustainable Development

In order to celebrate the International Literacy Day 2015 in Mozambique, UNESCO Office in Mozambique in collaboration with the Ministry of Educational and Human Development, through the National Directorate of Literacy and Adult Education and PROGRESSO, a Mozambican Non-Governmental Organization (one of the winners of 2015 UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize), is organizing 1-day seminar that will be held in Lichinga City, Niassa Province, on September 9 2015. The event will be preceded by a central ceremony organized by the government that will take place in Sanga district on September 8.

The seminar will involve about 40 people and among others the Vice-Minister of Education and Human Development, members of the local government, the UNESCO Representative to Mozambique, Senior Staff from the Ministry of Education and Human Development at central, provincial and district level, literacy teachers, learners community leaders and members of the community, PROGRESSO staff and Embassy of Ireland and European Union representatives.
