The Intersectoral Platform Priority Africa

© UNESCO/Valentino Etowar

The intersectoral platform Priority Africa is a mechanism of managing, coordinating and monitoring of the implementation of programmes selected in intersectoral manner.

The platform aims to support the existing activities, as a driving force for new activities and as an identification role for intersectoral projects that could be undertaken by the programmes sectors.

The platform helps to realise the vision of UNESCO's "ONE" and to conceive its approach as a mechanism of identifying opportunities both in sectors and services level and in Field Offices and Institutes in view to contribute to Member States efforts to fulfill the Millennium Development Goals and Education for All, to highlight the role of culture in sustainable development, in peace building, in youth and women empowerment through capacity building.

It is also a useful tool for analysing and evaluating the implementation of the Priority Africa
