The first one will include one week at UNESCO Headquarters and a second week on the World Heritage site of the Val de Loire. Students and WHC specialists will exchange views through case studies on: site management, the role of locally elected representatives and the commitment of local communities in Val de Loire, problems generated by the existence of two administrative regions during the inscription of the site on the WH List and their solutions, the European vision of cultural landscapes, the site interpretation and signage, and tourism and resulting pressures for the site. Twenty Australian students enrolled in the affiliated Master’s Degree programmes at the Charles Darwin, Curtin, Deakin and Western Sydney Universities will be subsidized to study for one full-time semester in a partner university in Europe. They will spend one week at the World Heritage Centre at UNESCO Headquarters one one week at the Val de Loire World Heritage Site.
