Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity |
|||||||||||||||||||
Launched in 2002, the Global Alliance for Cultural Diversity is a UNESCO initiative to strengthen local cultural industries and promote the diversity of cultural expressions, by creating partnerships between private, public and civil society sectors. The Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, which entered into force in 2007, reaffirmed the importance of promoting partnerships in support of the cultural industries in developing countries and thus the work of the Global Alliance. Your contributions to the 2008 evaluation demonstrated the need to provide cultural actors pragmatic information on working in partnership. The Global Alliance team is currently working to capitalize on the experience gained as part of a continuous process of adapting to the current global environment and the changing needs of its stakeholders. New tools, tips and case studies on partnerships in the cultural industries will be available in the fall of 2010 on the new Internet platform of the Global Alliance.
