DMJ International Video Dance Festival 2010, Tokyo, Japan

Call for entries

DMJ international video dance festival 2010 announces the 6th festival presenting international dance video. The Festival is organized by Dance and Media Japan (DMJ), in partnership with Asahi Art Square and will take place from 29 April to 2 May 2010 in Asahi Art Square, Tokyo, Japan.

The festival features dance film and dance video, a genre which is different from mere documentations of dance performances. A dance film or dance video presents choreography that has been specially made for camera.

The submission deadline for entries is 15 January 2010.

Only selected works will be screened at the festival. This selection will be done by Naoto Iina, the director of Dance and Media Japan.

Check the DMJ website for full details on conditions to apply and how to submit entries.

    - Parag. 18: (...) New means of private funding, from major foundations to small companies, must be encouraged as supplementary sources of funds, particularly with a view to supporting the creation, the expression and the dissemination of contemporary works.
    - Parag. 19: Public and private funding sources are invited to respond favourably to requests made by artists in developing countries or countries in transition. UNESCO’s intervention is particularly necessary in order to identify and publicize existing opportunities for private funding of the arts worldwide.
